The inspiration for my ceramic vessels is the ocean. I have always lived near the ocean and cannot imagine a life far from salt air, sand and wind. Being near the ocean is good for my soul. I respect the sea and find beauty in its unpredictable fierceness. This influences my work and I want to celebrate water, waves and the ocean, through my hand-built vessels.

I have chosen to work with clay because of its unique willingness to be manipulated and transformed by hand into three dimensional works of art. It begins soft and malleable, then hardens into one of the most durable mediums in the world, maintaining its integrity sometimes for thousands of years.
